About

This blog is a place to organize my economic and financial thoughts.

I am a resident of the Republic of Cascadia. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a Masters in Business Administration (ha), with a concentration in Accounting and Finance, and am a CFA charter holder. And I’m still trying to figure it all out.

Few of my family and friends has any idea what I do professionally. Most think I am either (a) a financial advisor, (b) an accountant, or (c) a stock broker (no, No, NO!).

I make my living knowing the worth of businesses. Mostly that entails me reading about 14 hours a day. Presumably nothing I could say on this blog could be misconstrued as investment advice but just in case – It isn’t! Invest at your own risk. Past results tell you nothing about future results. Safe Harbor statements, etc.

I began blogging in summer of 2006 to document my transformation from MBA skeptic to MBA aspirant. It’s a hard habit to break.

“A Zero Sum Game” summarizes my former (pre-Economics degree) attitude and current (post-economic collapse) attitude. In between I was lost in a financially engineered, neo-classical delusion.

Money, morality and motherhood are the three things I think most about in life.

I have two children (Little X and Little Y), one husband (Y), and no pets.
